On the 17th of November 2023 we were invited to the Sport Godalming Awards ceremony in Godalming Town’s Wilfred Noyce Centre. Our team members, parents and friends had nominated us and put our team up against the local staple ‘favourites’ the football club, hockey club, etc.... Team GroundGame is the relatively ‘new kid on the block’ but we were there to enjoy the ceremony, lend our support to the local sports teams and to simply have a good time with our local sports community.
Team GroundGame Godalming Brazilian Jiu Jitsu was represented by Gillian Smith, Luke Edwards for the Adult Team, Lily Ann for the Kids and Youth team and lastly head instructor Benny Sootho.
Against all odds and despite the other awesome nominees, We won the Sport Godalming Chairman’s special award!!!!
Thank you everyone for your amazing nominations. (some of which were read out during the prize giving and 1 also included in the ceremony programme booklet) Our Team is great because of every single one of you. Adults, Kids, Youths, parents, dear friends and supporters. We couldn’t have grown to the team we are today without your support, loyalty and love. We will continue to be the friendly space in Godalming where people can come for some great training, learn Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, make some friends and have a great time. We will continue to be this and strive to be better and more. Thank you once again everyone! Onwards and upwards always. OOSSS
